Winter ‘25

I truly credit Kaylen not only with helping me achieve my VBAC, but also with healing from a traumatic previous birth. My labor lasted three long days, and throughout it all Kaylen barely left my side. She was an absolute angel, and I am endlessly grateful for her calm presence, knowledge, and support during such a vulnerable time.

From the start, Kaylen was always available to answer my many questions. I was torn between an elective C-section and attempting a VBAC, and what I appreciated most was that she never pushed me in any direction. She listened carefully and supported our conversations with clear, evidence-based information. From our first meeting, it was obvious that she is calm, deeply knowledgeable, and incredibly reliable.

I experienced prodromal labor, which was exhausting and stressful. Instead of repeatedly going to the hospital, Kaylen stayed on call and helped me navigate that period with reassurance and confidence. She came to our home at 1 a.m. to help with contractions and positioning, and when things slowed, she left her TENS machine with us, which was a total game changer.

When it was time to go to the hospital, Kaylen knew exactly when to go and supported us every step of the way. She encouraged movement, helped guide positioning, and was a constant support to my husband. Once at the hospital, Kaylen was completely in her element, navigating the system, advocating effectively, and suggesting positions when the baby was not in an optimal position.

One particularly meaningful moment was when I felt my epidural failing at eight to nine centimeters. During my previous birth, I was never given the option to replace it. Kaylen suggested asking about replacement, which made a huge difference.

This experience led to a healthy baby boy and a truly positive birth. I went from feeling traumatized to actually thinking birth was fun. I cannot recommend Kaylen highly enough.

We worked with Kaylen for my two pregnancies (a non emergency c-section in '23 and a vbac in '25). Kaylen's support is priceless. If I could describe it in a few words, I'd say she's peace of mind. She's your confidant during pregnancy and your voice and advocate during labor. She's your close friend and mom during postpartum.

On our appointments, she'd listen to all my concerns and give space to all my feelings, answer all my questions with compassion and a wealth of knowledge, and reduced my anxiety with her calm presence. She helped me think through practical things, like planning my daily routine with the newborn and a toddler, and connected me with additional resources, like a wonderful postpartum chef.

For my second pregnancy, she came home and I was able to labor for 4hs making good progress until we went to the hospital. She navigated the hospital protocols and staff with ease (she knows many of the OBs and nurses), so I could focus on labor. She helped me tirelessly with positions that would help the baby descend, and prepared me for the pushing stage which I had no experience with. She made sure my birth plan was acknowledged and I credit her, along with the hospital team, for having a successful vbac (my scheduled c-section was supposed to happen the next day). I would recommend her with no hesitation!

Working with Kaylen has been one of the most valuable parts of my postpartum experience. From the very beginning, she brought such a calm, supportive energy that made me feel at ease as a new parent. I learned so much from her — from how to navigate pumping and feeding routines to using the baby carrier with confidence. She was incredibly generous with her knowledge, patiently answering every question I had (and I had a lot!) with clarity and care.

What really stood out was how thorough and thoughtful she was — the detailed notes she provided after each visit were incredibly helpful, and it meant so much to have that kind of ongoing support and reassurance in between sessions. I always felt genuinely cared for.

I’m so grateful to have had her by my side during those early weeks, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for guidance, support, and true partnership in their postpartum journey.

When we interviewed Kaylen, she was warm and filled us confidence and we immediately knew she was the right choice for us. She answered all our questions knowledgeably, and even knew specifics about many local hospitals. Prior to birth we had two pre-birthing classes with her which helped us to make informed decisions.

When labor started, we texted Kaylen, telling her that contractions were becoming more intense and frequent. She was able to assess we were not in true labor, and then told us she would check in on us throughout the night into the next day. Kaylen was right, and contractions did not become more regular until the next day. When true labor started, she traveled to our apartment to help manage labor pains. Her presence ensured that this period was calm and manageable, and even recommended that we nap before contractions picked up. Only when she determined that it was time to head to the hospital did we leave. We were in good spirits and felt ready. Upon arrival the hospital, staff determined that we were already 6cm dilated!

Kaylen stayed with us at the hospital through what would have been an extraordinarily lonely night. She presented choices for birthing positions, and ways to help the labor progress. Without her we would have felt lost, and very scared. She ensured that both of us were engaged and supported. Her confidence in knowing where we were in labor, and the choices we had, helped to keep us informed and make the best possible choices. She noticed that we were ready to push even before the medical staff, and went to get them for us. Once they came in, it was a whirlwind of activity, but Kaylen was right there with us providing her calm and steady presence. Another 30 minutes later we welcomed our son into the world. Kaylen stayed with us until we were able to breastfeed and settled.

We believe she was instrumental in helping us to have a positive experience and could not recommend her more!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kaylen and the incredible support she provided throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. From the moment we met, Kaylen brought a calming, reassuring presence that instantly made me feel more confident and empowered.

She took the time to understand my birth preferences, answered all my questions with patience and care, and was available whenever I needed her guidance. During labor, Kaylen was a steady and compassionate presence—offering comfort, encouragement, and advocacy every step of the way. Her knowledge and intuition helped me feel safe and supported, and I truly believe my birthing experience was as positive as it was because of her.

After birth, Kaylen continued to check in with us, offering emotional support and practical advice that made those early days so smooth.

If you’re looking for someone who is deeply compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and wholly dedicated to your well-being, I wholeheartedly recommend Kaylen. She’s a gift.

Kay was an absolute blessing to have during such an important time. She was able to support us with pregnancy support, labor care, and post partum - as a new mom, the latter two were the toughest for me and I truly feel my experience would not have been the same without her calm presence and confident ability to gauge appropriate and effective ways to step in. Her bedside manner is unparallelled - always making us feel so heard and seen by being authentically empathetic, patient, and kind. She expertly helped us navigate various new parent milestones - breastfeeding, sleep schedule, bottle feeding, juggling work / baby - by taking the time to sit with us and understand our family's specific needs/preferences. No matter what issue arose - we found a lot of comfort in knowing Kay was just an email, call, or text away. She is such a wealth of knowledge and excellent at what she does, not to mention just a delightful person to spend time with. By the end of our time together, she felt like our third parent / fairy godmother - having guided us through the intense and tender time of the newborn chapter. We recommend Kay wholeheartedly as she will truly care for your baby as if it is her own. Thank you endlessly for the support, care, laughs and everything in between, Kay!!

Kaylen was a such a blessing to us in the early haze of postpartum. I wish we could have worked with her for longer! She always had such a calm and loving presence, and made middle of the night breastfeeding sessions a lot less painful. More importantly, she gave me the confidence to breastfeed and care for my baby on my own during night feedings. I truly do not know what we would have done without her, and think working with her helped lay a super strong foundation for my comfort and ability to breastfeed still. I can't recommend her highly enough and will absolutely be booking her for any future pregnancies!

My experience with Kaylen was even better than I could have imagined. I'm grateful to have had her as a doula for my labor journey.

I had researched and interviewed with several doulas and during my call with Kaylen I instantly felt she was the right fit. Kaylen is knowledgeable and can educate in an easy to understand way. Her calming energy is evident even virtually.

She had been the support I needed throughout the process. She was there to keep me calm and help me through the pain of the contractions. I never imagined being 7cm dilated without an epidural. She also was able to navigate the difficult personality of my own mother (who kept insisting I not get the epidural because I should push through the pain like she did). That is something I didn't expect would be so valuable.  To do that, while supporting me through contractions and give peace of mind to my husband was so needed during my birthing journey.

Through the emotional stress and physical pain, I felt motivated and calm knowing she was looking out for me, my baby and my husband.

Beyond the labor,  she was also super helpful in postpartum. Her lactation guidance made a difference for me as a first time mom.

My husband and I felt we were in very capable and confident hands with Kaylen. While this is Kaylen's profession it feels more of like her passion.

Should my husband and I have more children,  Kaylen will definitely be hired again.

I truly feel anyone she works with will be as grateful and happy with the experience as my husband and myself.

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Kaylen. After a traumatic birth experience that resulted in a traumatic c-section, I felt completely overwhelmed and vulnerable. I knew I needed support, and hiring Kaylen as my postpartum doula was the single best decision I made for myself and my family.

From the moment we met, Kaylen exuded a sense of warmth, calm, and reassurance that was exactly what I needed. She provided invaluable emotional support, listening to my birth story without judgment and validating my feelings. She understood the complex emotions I was navigating after my c-section and helped me process everything in a healthy way. I truly believe her presence was instrumental in my mental and emotional recovery.

Beyond the emotional support, Kaylen was incredibly helpful with the practical aspects of postpartum recovery. She offered gentle guidance on breastfeeding, helped me with newborn care, and helped create a plan for sleeping/feeding my newborn. She anticipated my needs before I even knew them myself, always offering a helping hand , allowing me to truly rest and focus on my recovery.

My physical recovery from the c-section was also significantly aided by Kaylen's expertise. She shared gentle exercises to help me regain my strength and mobility, suggesting binding options to give me extra physical support that I needed. She was incredibly knowledgeable about postpartum healing and always prioritized my physical well-being.

Kaylen is more than just a doula; she is a compassionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive presence during a time that can be incredibly challenging. I wholeheartedly recommend Kaylen to any expecting parent. If you are looking for someone to support you through your postpartum journey, especially after a difficult birth experience, Kaylen is an absolute angel. She helped me heal, physically and mentally, and I am forever grateful.
